Luna's reflencetion

This was a wonderful class, make me got a different experience. Today morning, Gitte took us to a writing museum, which is my first time in the place. It was not far away and not very big, but it was like a hidden treasure. In this museum, it brought me a different view of books. It wasn't as boring as I thought it was, and it showed us in some unique ways. These unique presentation methods really keep us hooked. In this museum, I learned a lot of different things about writing. I knew that the world’s Columbian Exposition, held in Chicago in 1893, was an ambitious demonstration of America technology, commerce, and art. I knew some of the writers were from Chicago, such as Raymond Chandler, John Dos Passos, Lorraine Hansberry...As a person living in Chicago, I was also proud to see these authors.  I saw this sentence in the museum ‘ You don’t start our writing good stuff. You start out writing crap and thinking it’s good stuff, and then gradually you get better at it. That’s why I say one of the most valuable traits is persistence. It’s just so easy to give up!’ When I saw this sentence, I suddenly feel Gitte is using this method to improve our writing. What attracted me to this museum was his design, which made me want to stay there and see something about writing. Before I left, I was fascinated by the old typewriters in the museum. It gives us a first-hand experience of how typing machines have changed. These typewriters cannot be changed or deleted, and I made several mistakes myself. I realized the difficulty of writing before and the convenience brought by technology. Finally,  I think that professors can let us go to these meaningful places and let us get insights and feelings from them.
